A reducer insert is the bottle insert that limits each drop. Headspace is the empty air above the product. A package's hot-fill temperature is the product temperature when it is poured. Secondary packaging is the box or protective material around the primary bottle or tin.
Compare the package options
Amber glass protects from light and can feel more premium, but it is breakable and needs protective secondary packaging for shipping. Compatible plastic is lighter, less breakable, and practical for a toiletry bag or travel.

Some oils, essential oils, fragrance blends, alcohol residues, heat, or label adhesives can cloud plastics, soften liners, loosen seals, stain caps, or change how a closure behaves over time. Fingers can also introduce debris, moisture, or residue into jars and tins. Air, light, heat, and excess headspace can affect how the product holds up.
Before committing to a package:
- Fill a small sample by weight and close it normally.
- Hold samples upright and sideways.
- Warm and cool them under the handling conditions the product may face.
- Inspect for seepage, liner swelling, coating damage, label failure, odor transfer into the package, and messy rims.
- Confirm that the container tolerates the real fill temperature and that a normal person can open, dispense from, and close it.
