Privacy & Terms
How Balm Bench handles legal, privacy, and product trust.
This is the combined privacy, terms, affiliate disclosure, feedback, and educational-use notice for Balm Bench.
Last updated April 26, 2026.
Educational use only
Balm Bench provides recipe tools, ingredient profiles, articles, and community recipe references for small-batch grooming makers. The site is educational and practical, not medical, legal, regulatory, or professional advice.
Nothing on Balm Bench diagnoses, treats, prevents, or cures any condition. Always review supplier documentation, allergen information, IFRA guidance, local rules, and your own test-batch results before making or selling a product.
Accounts, drafts, and shared recipes
You can browse public content without an account. Signing in lets you save recipes, claim guest drafts, publish or import Community recipes, report published recipes, rate Community recipes, and use signed-in product utilities.
Guest drafts are claimed only when you explicitly choose to move them into an account. Shared recipe previews stay read-only until a signed-in maker saves a copy to their Vault.
Use and responsibility
You are responsible for how you use Balm Bench output, including formulas, ingredient notes, shared recipes, labels, claims, and supplier choices.
Do not use Balm Bench to publish unsafe, misleading, infringing, unlawful, or intentionally harmful content. Do not present generated or community content as proof that a product is compliant, safe, or suitable for every person.
Privacy and analytics
Balm Bench collects the information needed to run accounts, saved work, sharing, moderation, feedback, and site reliability. We do not sell personal information.
Analytics may record broad product events such as route area, sign-in method, sharing, importing, reporting, rating, and feedback submission. Analytics must not include ingredient names, weights, costs, recipe notes, feedback message bodies, or email addresses.
Where practical, simple browser preferences should use local storage instead of extra cookies.
Affiliate links
Some ingredient sourcing links may be affiliate links. If you buy through one of those links, Balm Bench may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate availability does not mean an ingredient, supplier, or product is endorsed for every use. Check the supplier page, safety sheet, allergens, storage notes, and current price before buying.
Community, reports, and moderation
Community recipes can include platform-seeded, AI-assisted, and maker-published entries. Provenance labels and report tools are part of the product's trust layer.
A report flags a published Community recipe for review. It does not guarantee immediate removal, and moderators may hide or restore reported recipes based on the current moderation rules.
App feedback
When app feedback is available, it is a signed-in utility for product notes and issue reports. Submitting feedback may send Balm Bench operators your message, current app path, app environment, signed-in account id, and signed-in account email.
Feedback is not anonymous unless Balm Bench deliberately strips that metadata, and it does not create a support-service commitment.
Launch and counsel boundary
This page reflects the current Balm Bench privacy, terms, affiliate, feedback, and disclaimer posture. Lawyer-reviewed legal documents are still required before launch cutover.
If a notice shown at the point of use is more specific than this page, follow the more specific notice for that workflow.
