Overview
Phenoxyethanol plus ethylhexylglycerin is a preservative blend for creams, washes, conditioners, lotions, and other formulas that contain water. It can be one part of controlling microbial growth when the complete formula fits the supplier's requirements.
It is not a universal answer. Before using it, check the exact supplier's recommended amount, pH range, processing temperature, packaging guidance, and finished-product testing requirements. It is not an antioxidant for oils and does not belong in a water-free formula by default.
