Ingredient profile
Geogard ECT is a preservative blend for compatible creams, washes, and other products that contain water. It does not belong in a simple oil or balm, and adding it does not by itself prove that a finished product is adequately preserved.
Check the exact supplier sheet for the allowed amount, pH (acidity) range, mixing stage, temperature, and regional restrictions. Measure and test the finished water-containing product as directed before scaling the batch.
Preservative system
Helps protect water-containing formulas from ordinary spoilage when used inside supplier limits.
Geogard ECT combines benzyl alcohol, salicylic acid, glycerin, and sorbic acid for use in some water-based cosmetic products. Whether it fits depends on the finished product's acidity, how its oil and water portions are combined, and the supplier's limits.
Check the exact supplier sheet for the allowed recipe amount, pH range, mixing stage, temperature, and regional restrictions. Do not use it in an oil, balm, or any formula that cannot be measured and tested within those directions.
